This website is intended to document the current state of Britains last main line at it enters its second century. Built at the end of the 19th Century and carelessly disposed of after only 70 years, much of it yet remains - overgrown and largely forgotten. It is my intention to survey, section by section as much of the remaining trackbed and as many structures as possible. Click on a link below to view a section of the line. Clicking on the black circles on the map will bring up a brief description of the feature in the right hand frame, together with thumbnails. Clicking on a thumbnail will load a high resolution image in a new window.
