Looking south under the main line span of Bridge 379. The 1950s replacement deck can be seen here, with its simple tubular guard rail. It is evident from the abutments that the structure was built to allow future expansion of the Midland Railways lines. The Great Central Way footpath sweeps in from the right to rejoin the original formation level over the running lines. It runs over the Up line from here to a point just south of Braunstone Gate bridge.
